The goal of every interview should always be the same: Get an offer of employment! Prepare for success before every interview:
- During the interview, focus on what you can do for the company, not what they can do for you. Discuss the ways in which you can make the employer’s life easier. Never ask questions about salary, benefits, or promotion opportunities in an interview.
- Research the company thoroughly before you go into an interview. This helps you understand about where the company is going and how you can help them.
- Never disparage your past employers. Burning bridges has never helped anyone’s career. It is a lot smaller of a world than you think.
- Dress for success. You only have one chance to make a first impression.
